Jeff Ponders II has composed a career more reflective of his training in jazz improvisation than the linear path of the stereotypical Ivy League alumni.

As a professional saxophonist, keynote speaker, and business strategist, Jeff has infused innovation, creativity, and infectious energy into some of the world’s most influential brands and audiences. He’s leveraged his unique experiences from the boardroom to the bandstand to develop and lead strategic initiatives for organizations like General Motors, Walmart, and Colgate, while concurrently reaching back to support small businesses and tech entrepreneurs. Today, Jeff is a Principal with Invest Detroit Ventures and founding Partner of The Better Company, where he works with ambitious professionals to help them leverage authenticity to amplify their superpowers. He’s a graduate of the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and proudly resides in his hometown of Detroit with his family.
